Headwaters 2021 Summer Research Experience

In this hands-on research opportunity, you will partner with a professional scientist to create a research project. You will emerge with the perfect experience to add to your college application.
Through a series of group and one-on-one virtual lessons, Headwaters staff will mentor you through designing and conducting your very own scientific research project. Over the course of 9 weeks you will ask an original research question, design and conduct an experiment to test that question, analyze your data, and submit a manuscript to a youth-specific scientific journal to be considered for publication.
Group sessions: You will select the time that works for you out of these 4 options:
- Tuesday: 12:30-1:30 or 5:00-6:00 p.m.
- Wednesday: 12:30-1:30 or 2:00-3:00 p.m.
Individual mentor meetings: TBD with your specific mentor
*Note for financial assistance: Do not register for a paid ticket if you are applying for financial assistance. You can access a scholarship application through the program page on our website. Additional slots have been privately reserved for scholarship students, and applicants will be notified before April 1st. You will be provided a separate registration link if you are selected for a scholarship.
