Introduction to Research - Fall Field Days

September 25, 2021 @ 10:00AM — October 3, 2021 @ 4:00PM Pacific Time (US & Canada)

Opportunities to explore the outside world and engage in science are critical for students, especially after a year’s worth of digital learning. This fall, Headwaters Science Institute is excited to announce Fall Field Days as part of our Introduction to Research program! These days will take place entirely outside, in partnership with the Truckee Donner Land Trust. Students will have the chance to increase analytical and critical thinking skills by learning to problem solve in the field and interpret data, learn more about our local environment, understand more about the scientific process, and make connections to local scientists while learning about careers in science. All field days will be led by local scientists. This is a series of one-day field research programs in collaboration with the Truckee Donner Land Trust. We aim to inspire students to pursue science learning opportunities and teach them environmental field research techniques. There are 4 one-day classes. We ask that students pick the one date that best fits their age and interest so that we can offer these classes to the greatest amount of students.
